Hormonal Acne Treatment

Raj Kumar asked:

Acne is a given in almost everyone’s life. You reach those teen years, and they seem to pop up at every second. It’s thought that woman’s hormonal cycles also have something to do with the overall problem of hormonal acne and its treatment. Let’s see what we can find out!

Oh you can just grow out of it.

Some people have gone the way of many who feel like if the acne is bad but not too bad, treating acne in anyone. Heck some adults still have it and have been plagued by it since their teen years. Is that what you want? To suffer all those years with acne that you could have gotten rid of long ago. Look into the hormonal acne treatments that are out there and available to you.

The clown of the get together

We all know him, he’s the one at the party who sits there and makes jokes about acne. It makes the person who has the acne feel low and perhaps become stressed out. There was a study that showed people who were unemployed those who had acne were discriminated against at a higher rate.

Acne and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)

PCOS or Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome is a highly common female hormonal disorder. If you get help and treatment for it, you will see great advances in that treatment. There are several things that the syndrome does to a female, there is testosterone induced skin and air changes. Causing acne, increased facial and body hair and scalp hair thinning. Also common is irregular periods, difficulty controlling your weight. So now you see where hormonal acne treatments come into the picture. If you have acne, and it’s not your normal acne you should go to a doctor and be tested to ensure that you are not suffering from PCOS.

Beyond the teen years

It has been shown in studies that if acne comes about earlier it is more than likely it will be acne that is more severe it should be considered a medical problem, because scarring may occur.

Hormonal Testing for Acne

Testing for hormonal acne should be carried out if you notice more acne and possible extra hair growth. This will allow the hormonal acne treatments to take place if the test has shown that it is your hormones that are causing the problem. Remember if the signs of PCOS do in fact match what you are suffering from you should really get it checked out. Not only can the hormonal acne treatment be used to help with your acne problem, but medicine can be given to you to help out with the extra hair growth, the irregular periods, and any other problems you might be experiencing.

Acne not Only for Kids

Jojo Michelle asked:

Acne NOT only for kids

Just by reading this article about acne information, may you realize the meaning of this article when there are so many articles already posted on the net. In this article you will find out that acne is NOT only for kids.

Acne is not just for kids, that I learned because I had a problem with my acne for years. It begins in middle school and it turned worse right off the bat. I admit that I wasn’t a handsome guy. Still, I was good at sports and fortunately that helped me get through this. I would have surely been forgotten if it wasn’t for my athletic ability. During those times I didn’t go out on dates with any girl, but I was content because I had many friends and I was accepted by the jock group.

Unfortunately, that didn’t spare me of the others mocking, because my acne was bad. And this blemish made the others call me names, like pizza face and all the rest. This affected me. I believed the acne was going to get better and better as the time passed. But this happened only after high school, a period which I call a fiasco also and I don’t want to say more about it. And my acne got better for a time. I bought all the astringents on the market at that time. For a period of time, things were going well and I managed to destroy of all my acne. No more blemishes! This encouraged me to ask a few girls out and I went on more than one date. All of a sudden, my job was moved to the south and I had to go there. I discovered that the south was not good for my acne. During my first week in South Carolina, a few blemishes appeared and after that, the acne broke out again.

The humidity and heat were no good for my oily skin. Anyway, after years of trying to keep my acne under control I discovered a few things that gave me some results. At first, I used soaps that totally dried up my skin. In fact, these soaps dried up the oil in my skin. There were hand made soaps that I got from a little old lady in region. She kept one of the secrets that I wish I had discovered for a long time. This could have spare me a lot of sufferance. Another important thing that I found on the market that has really helped me out and has continued to give me good results for some time is a product called 3 steps to acne free.

I wish I had this product back in my adolescent years. Now I go back and think of all those times I had missed or had become a misfortune. I don’t want the others to share my experience just because of acne or a few blemishes. I advise you, if you have been in this situation, you must know how uncomfortable it can be. This product really changed my life! Try it, don’t hesitate. It’s done more for me than any other products I’ve tried in the past.

This brings our discussion on acne information to an end, and now it is up to you to decide if we have succeeded in our effort to offer you some helpful advise on acne treatment.

Break Free From Acne Breakouts: Zinc’s Role in Acne Treatment

Mitamins Team asked:

Acne vulgaris, also known as common acne, is a problem that affects the lives of many teenagers (as well as adults).Pimples and breakouts can persist into adulthood , as if teenage acne is not embarrassment enough. People are always on the search for a treatment of acne that will ensure control and decrease breakouts. For many people, controlling acne(http://www.mitamins.com/disease/Acne.html) is a constant process because most of the time, treatment is only a momentary reprieve from the symptoms. This is the reason that the most effective treatments of acne are ones that wipe out pimples as well as maintain optimal health for the body, so that the rate of future breakouts is low. Taking acne medication for one’s lifetime is rather excessive for most people, It is for this reason that a lot of people are looking for alternatives to antibiotics in the form of zinc supplements. However, the question remains- Does zinc work?

Acne Control and Zinc

Acne and other skin problems are due to zinc deficiencies, according to several studies. Bacterial infections in the skin play an important role in acne, particularly among adults. Zinc is known for its infection-fighting properties, and seems to be useful in the treatment of acne.

Zinc oxide has been used to cure diaper rash for years. Zinc is known for its skin-soothing and healing properties as well. Studies have proved that zinc is beneficial in the treatment of acne, and is very effective-as effective in tetracycline in some cases. It is commonly recommended to take cheated zinc in a dosage of between 60 and 90mg a day for acne treatment(http://www.mitamins.com/disease/Acne.html). Zinc is a naturally – occurring mineral which is a kind of essential element for the body’s function. Thus, it is more effective in the long run to use zinc rather than antibiotics in long-term acne treatment.

Other Tips for Acne Skin Care

When sebum, bacteria or dead skin cells get trapped in clogged pores, whiteheads happen. The blemish takes on a white appearance on its surface, and should be squeezed to treat. If the pore is not entirely blocked, then the trapped sebum, bacteria or dead cells find access to the skin’s surface. When melanin in the skin reacts with oxygen in the air, the blemish has a black appearance. It can take quite a while to clear up blackheads, and treatment for them may involve a long period of time. Cysts are categorized by pus-filled blemishes that are 5mm or more across in size. These are painful and can lead to scars if not treated properly. If you squeeze cysts, they will just get worse. Nodules can result in scarring if squeezed and can be painful to boot. Getting treatment for acne treatment from a dermatologist is ideal. Pustules are similar to whiteheads but they are more serious and become inflamed. Remember not to squeeze them, however tempted you may be to perform your own acne treatment(http://www.mitamins.com/disease/Acne.html), because this could result in scarring. Pimples are inflamed red bumps. The best preventative treatment for acne involves keeping your hands off those zits!

Tired of Acne Controlling Your Life-learn How to Have Clear Skin/its Free

Ashley Anderson asked:

Acne is and has always been one of the most common skin problems among many people of different age groups. Acne causes not only physical effects, but also psychological and social ones as well. When starting a acne control program the biggest advantage you can gain is by starting as early as possible. Catching acne in the early stages allows your acne control medication to head off more serious forms of acne before they start.

Cleansing your skin properly is the most important acne prevention measure you can take. Not only does this clean off dirt, bacteria, and other unwanted materials, but it also removes excess oils that can cause breakouts. It is important that you do not over wash your skin, as this will remove oils that actually help your skin. This will result in dry, irritated skin, and can further aggravate your condition.

There are two types of acne, open and closed called blackheads and whiteheads. Acne forms pimples; they are made up of a combination of skin debris and fat deposits in a hair follicle. A pimple develops when the deposits rupture the hair follicle wall causing irritation. People who are dealing with acne are often tempted to pick at or pop pimples, zits or blackheads, call them what you will. Either because they have a misconception that this is part of effective acne care or out of a simple desire to get rid of blemishes. This temptation should be avoided at all costs, since doing so only aggravates the situation and can also lead to scarring.

There are several natural cures for acne that you may want to try before spending money on treatments. Many of these are cures that have been passed down from generation to generation. They are broken down into 2 categories. The blackheads category is more for prevention than curing an outbreak of pimples. This is the category you should use most because, the most important factor in acne control is early prevention. The second category, acne cures is used if an outbreak has already occurred.

You should also know that you can make a home treatment for acne even out of grocery-bought products. A mask made of cooked oatmeal can be allowed to sit on the face for 15 minutes – this helps in relieving acne. Aloe and witch hazel are also two popular herbal products that can cure acne. You can also stay out in the sun for a bit – the ultraviolet rays of the sun may be an effective natural laser treatment.

Easy Acne Cures That Anyone Can Use

Daniel Millions asked:

Acne can be very frustrating. Many teens and even adults deal with acne. Both occasional and frequent acne can be embarrassing and make people feel self-conscious. When you have acne, you simply feel that you don’t look your best. Anyone with acne is eager to get rid of it as quickly as possible.

Fortunately, there are acne cures that anyone can use. These are not “magic” cures that involve spending hundreds of dollars on some fancy potion. One of the most important keys to removing your acne is being consistent about using each of these cures as part of your daily life. Once you adapt these acne cures into your life, you’ll soon discover that acne is a thing of the past!

Use An Acne Cleanser With Salicylic Acid. Salicylic acid is one of the most popular acne treatment ingredients today. It is quite useful in relieving both teens and adults of their acne. It is important to follow the directions when using products with salicylic acid, as this is a strong ingredient used in the treatment of acne. Some of the products require that you use them twice a day and others suggest only once a day. Follow their directions for best results.

Drink Plenty of Water. Water helps to flush toxins from our bodies. One of the places we see toxins is on our skin and right on our faces, in the form of acne. When your system is out of balance, you’ll discover acne is one of the results. Upping your intake of water can help flush the toxins gently from your body in an easy and healthy way that is natural for your system. There is no need to try harsh or “forced” toxin removal systems. Water is one of the easiest ways to remove toxins. You’ll feel great with plenty of water in your system too!

Eat a Healthy Diet. Many teens (and okay, adults too) wind up relying on fast food meals or other quick pick-me-ups. Sugary drinks and fattening foods are a quick road to a complexion full of acne. A diet that is healthy and balanced is not only good for your entire system, but your skin will glow with healthy radiance. You’ll be quite pleased with the results. Be sure to get enough protein, dairy, grains and at least five to seven fruits and vegetable servings each day.

Teenage Girls: Remove Makeup Daily. One of the challenges with any teenager’s schedule is that they run from activity to activity. At the end of the day, sometimes they just fall into bed, getting ready to do it all over the next day. For beautiful skin, it is very important to remove all of your makeup each and every night. Makeup can clog your pores and cause impurities. Simply using gentle soap and water to wash your makeup off only takes a moment, but it will often keep you from getting a bad breakout. Take that extra moment and you’ll be pleased with the results.

Many acne cures are easy and quite practical. Using these acne cures over the course of several weeks will have your skin glowing and looking healthier than before. You’ll be quite pleased with the results when you try an acne cure you know will work!

Acne Types And Treatments

Dan Rodney asked:

Acne occurs when the normal process of skin’s cell renewal is interrupted.  Inside the sebaceous hair follicles (pores), oil keeping the skin naturally pliable and moist combines with the dead, old skin cells and are sloughed off in a normal skin renewal process.  If dead skin cell turnover rate is uneven, they become gummy producing a blockage inside the follicle.  Bacteria called propionobacterium acnes that normally live on the skin can thrive within these blocked pores.  The bacteria, along with the trapped oil, swell the follicle as the skin’s natural oil production process persists inside the clogged pore.  With large amounts of white blood cells, your body attacks this infection ultimately forming a pimple.   The full pimple-causing process takes between 14-21 days.  Occasionally in acute acne, the pocket of inflammation within a pore can rupture, forming irreversible scarring damage the skin enough to form irreversible scarring.

Typically, individuals with acne have acne vulgaris.  This type of acne affects people of all ages and genders.  There are various types of pimples you can develop.  When pores become only partially plugged and a portion of the oil slowly drains to the surface, blackheads are bred.  Whiteheads develop when the pore is totally clogged, trapping oil, dead skin cells, and bacteria, giving the whitehead its whitish appearance on the skin’s surface.  Swollen, red, tender bumps that do not develop a head are known as papules.  Do not set about to pop papules, as popping papules can increase the risk of scarring and infection.  A swollen, red bump with a white or yellow head is  a pustule.  The pustule is very similar in appearance to the whitehead, but the redness and swelling is the difference.   In more severe acne cases, nodules or cysts grow beneath the skin’s outer layer.  Nodules are painful, much larger, hard bumps below the skin that can take months to rid of.Much larger, hard, painful bumps that can take months to eliminate are known as nodules.  Cysts look like nodules, but are very painful and pus-filled.  They have a diameter larger than 5mm.  Nodules and cysts have the highest risk of scarring.  Unfortunately quite often with cysts and nodules, scarring does happen.  These types of pimples require a dermatologist’s assistance.  Infection and scarring risks are much too great with nodules and cysts.

Acne rosacea is the other kind of acneAcne rosacea appears similar to acne vulagaris, but strikes mostly those over 30 years of age and more women than men.  It surfaces as a red rash containing pimples, bumps, and skin blemishes with blood vessels becoming more prominent.  While acne vulgaris can affect any area of the human body, acne rosacea is , most of the time, confined to the cheeks, chin, forehead, or nose.

It is very important to keep acne prone areas clean.  It is necessary to wash the acne affected area twice daily, each daywith an unscented cleanser.   Look for cleansers that contain salicylic acid or creams containing benzoyl peroxide.  Salicylic acid will dry the acne-affected areas, while benzoyl peroxide is made to increase skin’s turnover rate, helping to clean the pores.  Antibacterial face cleansers and body soaps designed specifically for oily skin are also available for the treatment of acne.  Remember that the skin needs a certain amount of oil to maintain its natural condition, so make sure to avoid aggravating acne by overwashing with strong, drying cleansers.

No cure for acne is known at this time.  The real secret for controlling acne is prevention, which involves arresting the formation of acne before it grows into a pimple.  Many prescription and over-the-counter treatments are available.  In addition, consuming a whole foods diet plentiful in essential vitamins and minerals and drinking plenty of water can  strengthen your immune system and flush toxins to keep your body’s natural defense system in peak form to defeat acne infections more easily.  Treat acne as soon as it shows its first signs to eliminate the possibility of permanent scarring. Even after blemishes go away, you often have to maintain using an active acne treatment to prevent other blemishes from forming.

The Benefits of a Natural Acne Treatment

Ron Mark asked:

Few people actually realize that the skin is the largest organ in their bodies. When any other organ is unhealthy it usually causes pain; when the skin is unhealthy, it usually causes acne. Acne is a very unpleasant inflammatory skin disease that most of us have experienced at some point in time. Whether you’re experiencing acne in your teens or during adulthood, you’re probably looking for an efficient remedy. You should be aware that some acne remedies have negative effects on your other organs. The best way to avoid any subsequent health issues is to choose a natural acne treatment. At what4mom.com we are dedicated to helping you select the most effective and nontoxic acne treatment.

Acne appears because of the overproduction of oil in the sebaceous glands of the skin. The excessive oil clogs the pores and favors the spreading of bacteria. The red acne pimples are the skin’s way of reacting to bacteria. During your teen years, having some form of acne is pretty normal because of the fluctuating hormone levels. However, if you’re experiencing adulthood acne, the problem is likely to be more difficult to treat. While teen acne goes away by itself in many cases, adulthood acne is often the skin’s reaction to your lifestyle. Smoking, eating fat foods, not getting enough sleep, pollution, insufficient skincare – these are all acne triggering factors. Heredity can also play a part in determining how severe your acne is. What4mom.com features acne treatment reviews to help you locate the best natural acne treatment.

Most people don’t know that you can make acne go away with a balanced diet and without heavy medication. There are certain types of food that are very rich in acne-repelling vitamins and minerals. Studies have shown that acne can be linked to stress and lack of sleep. The body needs plenty of rest and relaxation to feel and look healthy. If you’re on a frantic schedule you should try your best to get at least 8 hours of sleep per night. Furthermore, thoroughly cleansing tour skin before going to bed is one habit you can’t go without. No acne treatment will ever work unless you stick to a skin cleansing program and try to lead a healthy lifestyle. Are You Looking For Acne Cure? You Need To Read This First!

Linda Hayes asked:

If you are just starting to find an acne cure, it’s best to first try the less aggressive approach before moving onto prescription drugs and topical treatments. There are alot of over-the-counter acne treatments available in your local drugstore nowadays. And Most of them work quite well on mild to moderate acne.

Try the over-the-counter products like Neutrogena and Clean & Clear acne treatments if you only have a a mild to moderate acne problems. You could also try some all-natural essential oils. Some have been around thousands of years for their anti-bacterial properties. Tea tree oil, Bergamot Oil, Clove Oil, Lavender Oil, and Rosewood Oil are all supposedly to be beneficial to acne-prone skin. I personally have great results with tea tree oil. Once to twice a week I would steam my face by pouring hot water into a bowl, then adding a few drops of tea tree oil in the water. It is also great to use as a on-the-spot treatment because unlike the harsh chemical, it wouldn’t dry out my skin. Be sure to check if the essentials oils need to be diluted before using though.

If these products don’t work for you. I do recommend that you try something like Proactive. It is stronger than over-the-counter products but still a tad milder than the prescription acne cure. The main effective ingredient in Proactiv is sulfur, which has an anti-bacterial property. I did try Proactiv before and although it helped me from having large cyst pimples, it really dried out my skin. After about 2 months, I felt like the product has stopped working for me and so I didn’t make my next order. But still I have heard some great reviews from other people. Like my sister for example, this might be her acne cure.

The reason why I suggest you to move slowly from one level to the other is that even though prescription treatments may work on more serious acne. It may be too harsh for sensitive skins. People with serious acne problems have no choice but to go this route and many have to endure the side effects of dryness, sensitivity to sunlight and redness in their skin. The popular prescription drugs, Accutane, for example is a very strong medication and it’s only suitable for severe acne sufferers. However, side effects include dryness, chapped lips and possible liver dysfunction so it’s best not to take it unless it is necessary called for.

Last but not least, remember to consult your dermatogist before taking any medications.

Help for Teenagers With Acne

stefexec asked:

If you are a teenager with acne, you are definitely not alone. Here are some recent statistics regarding teenagers, adults, and acne:

* 3 out of 4 teenagers will get acne.

* 90 – 95% of teenagers will have some form of acne in their teen years and into their early 20’s.

* Almost all people will have some type of acne starting either in their teens, or in later years, as adults.

Acne is a condition that a lot of teenagers are dealing with, and it needs to be understood.

The good news is that acne can be treated with conventional methods, such as antibiotics, medications, chemical peels, and laser treatments, and also with natural methods such as diet, herbs, vitamin supplements and naturally based cleansers.

The not so good news is that some teens with acne lose their self confidence and become withdrawn and anti-social. Some become so pre-occupied with how they look that the mirror takes up too much of their time and they purposely miss out on social gatherings with their friends. Some feel they will be treated differently and looked down upon, and opt to stay home as much as possible. Some even get depressed and start failing in school, thinking that the acne will never go away and they are doomed to be an outcast. This is faulty thinking and there is no need for it.

As stated above, acne can be treated in a variety of ways, and every teenager with acne needs to discuss treatment options with their doctor, or if desired, a dermatologist.

A Few Suggestions To Remember That Will Help:

* Get Enough Sleep – sleep allows the body to heal and helps the body’s defense systems to function properly.

* Drink Enough Water – at Least 8 glasses per day – water flushes the system of impurities.

* Watch Your Diet – what you eat can either help or hurt you. Studies have shown that teenagers with acne should avoid: hot, spicy foods, high-fat foods, alcohol of any kind, coffee, “junk foods”, too much sugar, and anything fried.

* Don’t Stress Out – about acne, or anything else. Stress causes acne to get worse. If you tend to get stressed easily – try Yoga and meditation, which are very relaxing to both body and mind.

* Get Enough Exercise – exercise makes sweat which expels toxins from the body. Exercise also allows oxygenated blood to nourish your skin cells, and, as an added bonus – it keeps your mood up.

* Don’t Irritate Acne – by touching or squeezing the blemishes. This will inflame the acne and make it worse.

* Use Noncomedogenic products – noncomedogenic products won’t cause skin pores to get blocked, making it less likely for acne to develop. Look for the word “noncomedogenic” on the labels of all hair and skin products.

The Acne Cure

Clint Jhonson asked:

Every fitness and health market is overwhelmed by the presence of a wide range of acne treatments that are advertised in order for people to rely n them when suffering from severe acne; but you should not rely only on the advertisements when it comes to choosing one acne treatment. On the contrary, you must ask for professional advice that must come from a skin expert. You will also have to stay way from the acne cures that were proven to have remissive effects because you should look for a treatment that has long lasting effects without having to worry that your acne condition is likely to reappear someday. Regimens are to be started and you will also have to pay attention to the cures that are to be used in order to prevent the reappearance of this skin condition that can even dampen your self esteem and confidence. Prevention is the key but if you have already developed a severe acne form, you may consider finding a good doctor in order to follow his future advice. You must stay away from personal experiments because they are likely to worsen your condition.

Therefore, you have to get the required acne cure and you must stick to its rules in order to achieve long lasting effects; you will have to do your homework as well in order to find which type of cure is likely to work in your case and you may even try to find a prevention method that will help you stay away from this condition. The acne skin products are to be carefully chosen in order not to damage your already suffering skin; you have to treat your acne and even prevent it because this skin condition can actually take over the entire social life that you have enjoyed until now. The acne products are to be combined with the proper regimen in order to get rid of this problem. The acne treatment is to be combined with other methods in order to get rid of the acne scars as well because these scars may take some time in order to heal for good. These scars are quite slow when it comes to their fading and they can also influence your social life in a negative manner. Therefore, you will have to get rid of them as well in order to become socially fit again.

The acne scars are likely to be formed when the human body is trying to protect itself; the healing process will come along with these ugly scars that are likely to damage the skin’s appearance. For instance, you can use Vitamin A on a regular basis in order to hurry up the healing process but you will have to ask for your doctor’s opinion before starting to take any chemical or natural supplement. Acne can become quite frustrating when noticing its possible marks; it commonly appears during puberty but you should not rely only on this aspect because even the adults may be prone to developing such a skin condition. This disease is very uncomfortable and you will need the proper acne cure in order to get rid of it.

Every person who is suffering from this condition tends to become really depressed when discovering the pimples on a daily basis; acne can also damage your self esteem because other people will tend to look at you in a totally different manner than they use before. Therefore, you will have to try to remain positive about this skin condition that can be cured for good if you choose the proper acne treatment; this common disease has to be fought back in order to get rid of all its negative implications. You will have to undergo a combined treatment that will allow your skin to breed freely without its pores being blocked by the excessive oils that are coming from inside the body.

But you should be perfectly aware that overnight cures do not exist for this skin condition; the results of every treatment are likely to become visible and noticeable between 3 weeks to 7 weeks; therefore, you will have to be patient enough in order to notice the future and visible effects that will come along regardless of the type of the treatment. This treatment will be prescribed according to your acne and skin type and will mainly consist of topical solutions and oral cures. Even some dietary supplements are likely to be considered in order to speed up the healing process but these supplements are not to be considered as treatments by themselves. On the contrary, they have just a supplementary and complementary function that will help the conventional cure have the desired and long lasting effects.

Zinc Acne Treatment That Gets Results

Mike Walden asked:

Zinc is a mineral and it is believed that it has curative properties on a skin where there are acne growths. It is believed that zinc can reduce the symptoms of acne. However on the other hand, many studies have indicated that this is not the case. So is there a connection between the two? Let us find out.

According to research carried out in recent years, zinc has the same properties of antibiotics such as tetracycline and it can fight the acne bacteria efficiently. And that too without the negative effects of antibiotics. Reportedly, zinc also enhances the immunity of the body.

I wanted to find out the truth and so I carried out experimentation for 7 long years. And after my research, I have been able to find out the zinc and acne connection.

So what is zinc and what is the zinc acne connection all about? How does the zinc acne treatment affect the sufferers and what is the best way to use this treatment to get relief from this terrible disease? And can the zinc acne treatment give permanent relief? This report discusses all these issues in detail.

Get all the zinc for acne information here

You will find traces of the zinc mineral in various food items such as mushrooms, soybeans, legumes, fish, sunflower seeds, egg yolks, soy lecithin and also in whole grains. Zinc also present in estrogen, testosterone and growth hormone.

Yes, there are many utilities of zinc, but how does it help a person suffering from acne? To understand this, you will have to know the zinc acne connection.

What are the zinc and acne connection and the co-workers?

The causes of acne are all internal and they are imbalance in the level of hormones and build up toxic materials within the body. The hormones are responsible for producing oils, and the zinc can regulate the oil glands, and so if you can take them correctly (that is in the right quantity, quality and the correct essential fatty acids) you will be able to have some control over the level of hormones and this will ease the symptoms of your acne greatly.

Plus there are more benefits of the zinc for acne treatment. It helps absorb the Vitamin A, fights the bacteria that causes acne by strengthening the immunity, helps the body heal wounds and the zinc also has anti oxidant properties. All these are useful in tackling the secondary causes of acne and will help you reduce the symptoms of acne.

Another ability of zinc for acne is that it can regulate the production of hormones, which is a main reason why someone gets acne. However for this to happen, it needs to be taken in the correct quality and combination with essential fatty acids. This needs to be properly absorbed within the body and work together with some nutrients for the hormones to be balanced.

Here is something important that you will need to remember: zinc as an acne treatment may be effective, however take care not to mix it with some chemical substances, supplements and food items because they will make zinc less effective and its impact will go down by quite a bit.

So what are these inhibitors of zinc that does not let zinc function properly?

Zinc acne treatment: here are the various inhibitors

As mentioned above, there are some food items, supplements and conditions that can come in the way of the zinc being properly absorbed in the body. This may significantly reduce the impact of zinc on the acne.

So what are these inhibitors? Phytic acid that you will find in high level grains has been found to be one of them in recent studies. The acid can reduce the absorption by about 15%. And thus, those who are suffering from acne need to have fewer grains just about one to two servings a day. Grains may lead to mucus and acidity and taking them with zinc for acne can be a challenge.

Another zinc inhibitor is soy protein. If you are on the zinc for acne treatment, you need to take less soy as it can bind to minerals and lead to less zinc absorption.

Then there are other minerals like copper and inorganic iron. They also come in the way of zinc for acne bio-availability. However this issue can be solved easily, unless of course you are suffering from copper toxicity. Try not to take copper more than 2-3 mg a day and also do not take inorganic iron supplements.

Too much of physical exertion may lead to an increased demand by the body for zinc and thus, when you are exercising, you need to also take more zinc for acne treatment.

Strictly follow these rules to maximize the zinc acne treatment results:

1. Always take several nutrients like fatty acids, cod liver oil and coconut oil along with the zinc acne treatment as they will aid the establishment of the hormonal balance. You diet may not be enough and when this is the case, you will need supplements for these nutrients.

2. The food you are eating should not have zinc inhibitors such as excess copper and inorganic iron because this will come in the way of absorption. Also, if you engage in excessive physical activity, you need increase your intake of zinc.

3. Restrict the zinc intake daily to 100 mg; it is best taken with food. Remember, if you have more than that, it may lead to toxicity.

4. You will find zinc in many foods but it is basically a mineral and it is present in the same soil where cultivation takes place. And so the quality of the food depends greatly on how good or poor the soil is. Thus, getting your vegetables that have come from organic farming is always a good idea.

5. Food items often have little amounts of zinc in them and because of this, supplementation becomes necessary for the zinc acne treatment. Now there are basically 2 kinds of zinc supplements and they are Zinc gluconate and Zinc Monomethionine (Opti-Zinc). Zinc Monomethionine is better because it is more effective for the acne. It can also be better absorbed by the body.

6. Before you begin this line of treatment, always check for copper toxicity because if you have this, then the zinc cannot be absorbed properly. Ask for a blood test or muscle testing (Kinesiology). Caucasian people having brown nipples may indicate copper toxicity.

Zinc acne treatment offering a permanent solution to your acne problems.

Though it may help, but zinc alone cannot work wonders. This is because the acne did not occur from a deficiency in the level of zinc, but a lot of primary and secondary factors.

But this does not mean that the zinc acne treatment will not give you results. You need to just ensure that you are not encouraging any zinc inhibitors and that, you are taking it with the right nutrients in the correct quantity. Yes, the zinc acne treatment can control the level of hormone and reduce the symptoms of acne.

But the only surefire and permanent way to get rid of acne is by adopting the holistic path. Get rid of all the root causes of acne such as the toxicity in the blood and lymph and the hormonal imbalance and you can sure forget about acne. The zinc acne treatment and the holistic remedy can work together to create an environment that is unsuitable for the acne to flourish. And at last, you will be able to completely eradicate your acne worries.

A Permanent Cure for Acne Scars ?

Dennis White asked:

Ask anybody who has ever suffered from acne what was the least enjoyable part of the whole experience and probably the most possible answer will be the scars – acne scars that remain long after acne is gone. If having acne is considered bad, then what about having acne scars for several years more ? If acne scars are what you want to either avoid or get rid of, then a few tips are presented here … Prevention is better than cure If you are still in the early stages of acne then you might want to consult a qualified dermatologist at the earliest to prevent acne from getting worse. Getting rid of acne fast can greatly reduce the chances of scarring later on. A qualified dermatologist can help determine your skin type and the particular triggers that may exacerbate your acne help you get rid of acne fast. What if you already have scars? Well, if your acne has already progressed beyond the initial stage of whiteheads and blackheads and you now have pimples and scars on your face, then you have to do two things at the same time – get rid of pimples and get rid of acne scars. Before discussing how to eliminate acne scars, you may want to know… What are acne scars? Acne scars are caused when pimples either get inflamed or do not heal fully. Acne scars are formed when at least one of the layers of healthy skin is injured. When the skin is damaged and bleeding, the body forms new tissue fibers at the place to heal the wound and stop the bleeding. It is these tissues that may appear as a scar. So getting rid of scars requires that the scar tissue be replaced by healthy tissue by some process or method. Becoming completely free of acne scars that already have been formed depends on two things : 1) The severity of the scarring and 2) the treatment method you follow. The more severe the scarring, the more effort and time it may require before the scar can completely heal. Treatment methods for acne scars There are several methods to heal acne scars but in practice very few of them may be very effective. And some methods may have side effects that you may want to be aware of before you start such a program. Laser Resurfacing: A carbon dioxide laser burns away the damaged skin, layer by layer. The depth of penetration is controlled. As the outer layers of damaged skin is removed, new skin cells begin to form as the healing process starts and in a few weeks, a younger looking smoother skin surface begins to appear. This is how the process is supposed to work, at least in theory. Laser resurfacing is a relatively new process and you might want to ask your dermatologist about the effectiveness of this method in healing acne scars. Dermabrasion: This uses a spinning diamond instrument or a rotating wire brush to wear down the outer layers of the skin that have been damaged. And when the skin starts healing, younger and smoother skin will replace the old skin removed by abrasion. The healing process may take up to 3 weeks. Chemical peels for acne scars: Acidic solutions are applied to the skin to peel away the damaged layers and the new skin that is formed is usually smoother. Chemical peels range from mild to deep penetration. Though chemical peels can be applied at home, it would be advisable to get a dermatologist to apply it. Punch grafts: More suitable for deep and pitted acne scars, this method involves punching a hole to remove the scar and then removing a small piece of undamaged skin – usually from the area behind the ear – and using it to replace the damaged skin. There are treatments for acne scars. But the question you may want to ask is… Do They Work? All of the treatments mentioned above seem to have a moderate success rate – while they seem to work well for others, some are less than delighted with these treatments. While results like these may be expected with any medical procedure, your face is a very important part of your life and you will want to be absolutely certain that any treatment will be beneficial to your sense of well-being and not otherwise. In case you want to read other acne treatments that seem to work very well, you may want to see how to get rid of acne marks .

Acne Treatment. is it What You are Looking For?

Esteri Maina asked:

You will be surprised with the number of products in the market for Acne Treatment? They leave you even confused wondering of the best treatment for Acne. Most of them are not even scientifically proven. Most successful treatments do not work magically in that you apply today and withing a week the acne disappears! Not at all. Acne treatment is actually a process and for you to successfully treat Acne do not jump for those cheap offers available in the market before being sure of what you are especting or consulting a doctor just like you would do for any other deffect.

However some treatments can give quick results and improve some active spots but not usually all spots. The modes of improvement are not necessarily fully understood but we can classify the treatments in different ways. Normalising shedding into the pore to prevent blockage, Antinflammatory effects, Hormonal manipulation, Killing of propionibacterium acne bacteria which are ways of treatment based on the cause of Acne.

In many cases, a combination of treatments can greatly reduce the amount and severity of acne . Those treatments that are most effective tend to have greater potential for side effects and need a greater degree of monitoring, so a step by step approach recommended. Many people consult their doctors when deciding which treatments to use, especially when considering using any treatments in combination.

There are a number of treatments that have been proven effective. These examples are like Topical bactericidals which are widely available OTC bactericidal products containing benzoyl peroxide and may be used in mild to moderate acne. Others are Topical antibiotics which are Externally applied, Oral Antibiotics, Hormonal treatments especially in women through some contraceptions. Topical retinoids which are a group of medications for normalizing the follicle cell lifecycle can also be used. Also Oral retinoids (a daily oral intake of vitamin A), phototherapy, laser treatment and not forgetting the natural acne treatments. This is just light pass of minute information that you need to kick acne out of your life.

Keeping your skin clean is very important in preventing acne. By keeping your skin clean, using either cleansers or just plain soap and water, excess dirt, oil and sweat are removed which would otherwise have clogged up skin pores causing pimples. However over washing is to be avoided as it removes the natural oils necessary for ensuring the skin doesn’t become irritated. Gentle soaps or acne cleansers can also be used to prevent acne.

A person with acne should desist from popping the pimples. Though this is assumed to get rid of the infectious pus,in reality it pushes the bacteria deeper into the skin and causes irritation round the area. A skin toner is a better solution for dealing with the pimples. Avoiding stressful situation prevents acne breakouts to those people who experience breakouts when stressed. Plenty of rest and eating right puts one in the right frame of mind.

To avoid back and chest acne, lose clothing is recommended. Tight clothing aggravates acne and may increase breakouts. This is because tight clothing traps sweat close to the skin, which leads to clogging of skin pores. Please, take my advice. Do not use any treatment products without knowledge of how it works. Get enough advice from your doctor on how to treat Acne and do not be in a hurry to treat Acne because it may worsen the situation. Acne will not disappear tomorrow for applying a treating cream on to your skin. Please give it time and follow the directions well.

Is Microdermabrasion Acne Treatment For You?

Yuki Shoji asked:

As we all know, our skin is constituted of millions of cells, which have the task of protecting us from harm and regulate our body temperature. Thousands of these skin cells die and new ones appear, regenerating our skin.

But as time passes by, this regeneration process slows down and skin problems begin to surface. This is when the dark blotches appear, along with the wrinkles, and you begin to ponder on techniques that will improve your skin condition. If you happen to also suffer from acne, then micraodermabrasion acne treatment might be the answer to your skin problems.

Micraodermabrasion acne treatment is non-surgical, non-invasive new technique to smooth the skin. It only affects the outermost skin layers and is applied in two stages. First, a microdermabrasion acne machine is employed for cleaning the skin and pores, somewhat like a vacuum cleaner, removing dead and flaky skin cells and other skin debris.

This microdermabrasion acne treatment can be done without anaesthesia because it isn’t painful. It feels somewhat like a deep cleansing massage.

In the second stage of the microdermabrasion, a fine stream of aluminium oxide crystals is diffused on the skin. When applying the microdermabrasion acne treatment, the aluminium oxide crystals have the effect of gently smoothing the skin surface by removing the exterior layer of dead skin cells. Skin surface irregularities may be permanently smoothed over time, but only after several microdermabrasion acne treatments. You may be surprised to see a red healthy glow on your skin after the completion of the treatment. This is due to the fact that the treatment increases circulation in the skin, which brings nutrients and oxygen responsible for the soothing and regeneration of the skin, giving you a fresh new skin.

The microdermabrasion treatment is presently applied by several medical centers in the treatment of acne and acne scars. The duration varies according to the acne patient’s skin condition.

A mild case of acne may take ten sessions of microdermabrasion acne treatment, whereas more severe cases of acne may require more sessions in order to get the desired results. The duration of each session of microdermabrasion acne treatment may take as little as ten minutes to up to two hours, depending on the patient?s skin condition.

The norm is usually forty-five minutes for the first sessions, but time may be reduced to half an hour once the acne condition improves.

With the microdermabrasion acne treatment, you may get visible results rapidly, but you must be advised that IT does not cure the disease completely, because it treats the effects of acne and not its cause.

This is the main reason why repeated sessions of the microdermabrasion acne treatment are needed. Also, you should not be using Ro-accutane while under this treatment.

Microdermabrasion acne treatments exist under several forms. You may get the microdermabrasion acne treatment through an inexpensive do-it-yourself lotion package sold in pharmacies, or through medical and salon machines with the procedure described above.

Remember, whichever method you choose, always consult your health care professional first.

Acne Treatment – Essential Information For Clearing Severe Acne

Taff Martin asked:

Under the best of circumstances, trying to find an acne treatment that works for you can be difficult. Most treatments for severe acne can be harsh on the skin, causing further irritation, but you can’t let your acne go untreated either, as that risks the possibility of acne scarring.

One of the oldest acne treatments for severe acne is Accutane, or its generic counterparts, which are a derivative of Vitamin A. Accutane is extremely effective for getting control of severe acne, and can sometimes virtually bring an end to acne breakouts. The drawback is the toxicity of Accutane, which causes a long list of undesirable side effects.

Essentially Accutane causes your oil glands to shut down during the treatment period, which typically lasts four to five months. Because you are not secreting any oils, your skin becomes very dry, which many users report as feeling like a sunburn. Accutane users also report that nosebleeds are very common, as well as hair loss. It has also a tendency to make users feel very depressed. Although Accutane can get acne problems under control, the side effects make it an option that should be used sparingly.

Antibiotics as an acne treatment are also very effective. There are a variety of antibiotics used, but, like Accutane, some forms have some undesirable side effects. Minocycline, one of the oldest antibiotics used to treat acne, has a reputation as being the most toxic. Doctors still prescribe it since the body is slow to build up immunity, but they are increasingly using other, more gentle, antibiotics despite the tendency for users to build up immunity.

If you suffer from severe acne, you might opt for a more direct acne treatment. Intra-lesional corticosteroid injections made directly into the cystic nodule have proven to be most effective. The injections act quickly, helping to reduce the swelling much in the same way cortisone injections would for an injured knee or back, though they do create discoloration. Although the treatments work well, intra-lesional corticosteroid injections are only successful on existing cystic nodules.

Lasers have also become a popular acne treatment recently. Not only can lasers treat acne, they can also remove acne scarring. However, because these lasers are currently unregulated, anyone can purchase and legally use these lasers. The danger is that an inexperienced practitioner may overexpose a patient to the laser, causing permanent damage.

There are two types of lasers, ablative and non-ablative. Ablative lasers are the oldest and strongest variety, and they essentially vaporize the outer layer of skin, much like removing a tattoo. When this outer layer of skin grows back, acne scars and wrinkles are greatly reduced. The extreme heat produced by ablative lasers cause your oil glands to shrink, which prevents breakouts.

Because your skin is burned off, treatment from ablative lasers will make your face red and sore for several weeks. Non-ablative lasers are newer and gentler than older lasers.

Non-ablative lasers also shrink the oil glands, but since they do not vaporize your skin, there is usually no soreness or visible side effects. Non-ablative lasers also promote collagen growth, so they also remove acne scarring. Because non-ablative lasers are less harsh, they will require more than one treatment session, while an ablative laser treatment consists of only one session.

Severe acne has never been pleasant and the acne scars reach much deeper than what a person might see on the surface. The long-term effects of acne are damaging, both physically and psychologically. There is hope and more than one type of acne treatment to choose from, though do be aware of potential risks.

How to avoid acne scars – tips to avoid and remove acne scars

beating acne now asked:

4. Dermabrasion is a medical procedure used by dermatologist this process involves removing the surface of the skin by abrasion, this medical procedure is very painful and takes several months to heal; dermabrasion is useful for removing scars or any imperfection on the skin.

Acne – In Depth Questions and Answers

Corbin Newlyn asked:

Acne is a commonplace skin problem for the majority of adolescents and also afflicts a portion of the adult population. People of all different age groups and backgrounds have had to deal with acne at one point or another. Thus, there has long been a long standing desire to prevent it or even cure it.

We will take a look at some of the various causes of acne in addition to some of the various ways in which people are treated. Our hope with this article is that you will gain a better understanding as to the reasons why people get acne and what they can do for prevention and treatment.

What is acne?

For many thousands of years, people have wrestled with acne. Acknowledged in some cultures as a kind of curse from the gods for immoral behavior, acne has mostly been misunderstood. Only within roughly the past century has the medical field been able to distinguish the true causes of acne. As some might expect, this has permitted those who are afflicted with blemishes to gain a certain sense of relief.

An inflammatory disease of the skin, acne is the consequence of serious changes in the skin’s structure. Acne is considered to be the body’s unique response to a relatively natural production of testosterone, a male hormone.

Instead of a sign that one’s skin is not clean, acne is more closely related with the hormonal and bacterial activity underneath the skin, which finally leads to the irritation of the skin. The end result is the red swelling that we know as acne.

What is The Most Common Type of Acne?

One may think that all acne is the alike, but in fact it is not. As with all irritations of the skin, there are several forms involved. Some are believed more serious and harder to eliminate than others. The most usual kind is acne vulgaris, which only means “common acne,” ordinarily signified by a red swelling of the skin. Soon after the initial signs, the white or yellow pus that people associate with acne becomes evident.

This is the type of acne that the majority of teenagers get, caused when excessive amounts of oil from the sebaceous gland combine with dead skin cells to end up clogging the pores of the skin. Since the skin’s pores are blocked, oil continues to build up, hence permitting bacteria and yeast to spread. This surplus of bacteria and yeast is what finally does tons of damage to a persons skin.

What Are The Mental Effects of Acne?

Acne might show a body’s failure to properly deal with hormonal changes. Acne can suggest that a person is not handling stress in an effective manner. It might be an indication of a potentially serious allergic reaction to a medication or other type of element. It is not these effects of acne that tend to do the most damage, though.

Acne is more than a health issue, acne is known to cause people (mainly teens) a sense of shame as well as embarrassment. Acne is incorrectly associated with being unclean. Clear, healthy skin is associated with cleanliness, while severe forms of acne are frequently thought to be the effect of sanitary neglect.

Not just that, acne can be ugly and turn people away. The majority of people who experience severe acne are emotionally scarred by the social rejection, contributing to adolescent emotional insecurity and a sense of self-doubt. Because of this, acne should be treated as rapidly and as thoroughly as possible.

Isn’t it True That Staying Clean Helps Prevent Acne?

It is always a healthier alternative to rid your skin of toxins as well as dirt that accumulate throughout your normal daily routine. So yes, to some extent, it is true that washing your skin can help prevent or decrease acne.

Acne is a chemical element, and it is something that occurs beneath the surface of the skin to a greater degree than on the skin itself. Both cleansing on a daily basis as well as care of one’s skin will help in reducing the bacteria that resides on the surface of the skin, but these actions cannot decrease the testosterone levels below the surface of the skin that help to create acne.

Recognizing this underlying fact should help to reduce some of the stigma that is accompanied with acne. It should also allow people who are enduring their acne to take some degree of comfort in understanding that they are not necessarily less clean than other people. The truth is that they have very little actual control over what is going on beneath their skin.

What Are Some of The Other Elements Involved That Increase the Probability of Getting Acne?

That is a good question, and one that is likely on everyone’s mind. The tough part about acne is that there is not one single element that can prompt it. Several factors help cause acne. Some of them can be circumvented, while others cannot. For instance, one cannot change their family history, but this is one very important factor in influencing the development of some form of acne.

Hormonal activity is another. Women who are pregnant or who are menstruating have been known to abruptly acquire bad cases of acne. Other elements, such as stress and certain medications, can also bring about acne.

Bear in mind, acne is based on the hormonal changes that occur within the body. Any life-changing or stress-inducing occurrence is likely to alter a person’s chemical makeup. Lastly, the accumulation of dead skin cells often contributes to increased acne.

Acne Cure – Four Herbs Helpful in to Treat Acne

Dr John Anne asked:

The acne industry is an insatiable one. It creates so called “new acne products” almost every day with no intention other than to make scorching piles of money playing with people’s emotions and trust. People still go on searching for acne cures endlessly.

Each and every month people spend spends a small fortune paying their ‘acne bills’; the cost of trying to clear their acne filled skin is high. The products people usually try are general cleansers and other topicals products. People in desperation even try fasting on apples for three days and this also does not pay them any worth.

Well there are some herbs that are extremely helpful in relieving people from there acne and skin problems. These herbs purify the blood stream of toxins by enhancing liver functioning that is a good cure for acne. Some of the major herbs for curing acne are:

Burdock – Burdock is plants of the genus Arctium having dark green leaves that can grow up to 18 inches in height. They are usually large, coarse and ovate, with the lower ones having shape of heart. They are hazy underneath. The leafstalks are generally hollow. These plants normally flower in summers i.e. from July through October.

Yellow Dock – Yellow Dock or Rumex crispus is used widely in the treatment of chronic skin complaints, especially psoriasis associated with constipation; acne and obstructive jaundice. The anthraquinones have a cathartic action on the bowel, but can act in quite a mild way, maybe tempered by the tannin content. A compress can be used to help soothe itchy skin. The ointment is important for itching, sores, swellings and scruffy eruptions. It is a wonderful acne cure.

Dandelion Root – the leaves of the plant are very nutrient-rich, and so they make good food supplements for women who are pregnant or elderly women. Dandelion can also be used as a diuretic and can reduce serum cholesterol in some people. The root can be an appetite stimulant and is able to rectify digestive problems. It is very effective in treating skin related problems and acne. It is a good acne cure.

Red Clover – It is an herbaceous perennial plant, very variable in size, growing to 0.2 to 0.8 m in height. The leaves are alternate, trifoliate (with three leaflets), each leaflet 15 to 30 mm long and 8 to 15 mm broad, green with a characteristic pale semi-circular in the outer half of the leaf; the petiole is 1 to 4 cm long, with 2 basal stipules. The flowers are dark pink with a paler base, 12 to 15 mm long, produced in a dense inflorescence 2 to 3 cm diameter. This herb is considered to be one of the best herb that is very helpful in treating skin related problems especially it is a wonderful cure for acne.

Cystic acne and your immune system

cystic acne asked:

Cystic acne is a clear indication of a well functioning immune system. Concomitant with a well functioning immune system, cystic acne sores provide a means of aerosol and other means of natural vaccination from a variety of diseases. These two factors seem interrelated and may indicate that males with acne have a more adaptable immune system which is clearly adapted to inoculation and vaccination, through acne sores, from natural exogenous sources.

The ability to survive epidemics, immunity, both partial and complete from a variety of diseases, an immune system exposed to a great variety of exogenous disease causing viruses, bacteria and etc through acne sources and thus more adapted to combat the same through cross immunity and specific immunity and increasingly adaptive immunity mechanism, and related processes, can explain the survival benefit of acne in men with the resultant increasing ability to pass this survival mechanism to future generations through mere survival itself despite the disfiguring effects of cystic acne.

Proper skin care, a proper diet and exercise. I know it seems kind of obvious, but washing your skin twice daily and using the proper skin care items do wonders. Eating properly and exercising will also help clear up your cystic acne, as well as make you appear better all over. Eating properly doesn’t mean eating till you’re 100 pounds, either, but getting actual good nutrition.  If your acne is bad, and a month or two of skin care and diet doesn’t help, go see a dermatologist.

Some people experience a miracle when they use medication and formulas, for others, other prescriptions are needed. Also, try to see what triggers blemishes for example, if you’re stressed out, try to relax some more.  There are some foods which can aggravate acne by making your produce more sebum, you may want to avoid those foods if you figure out what they are. Keep in mind that your skin is not going to become clear over night, it’ll take months or years. Most likely if your acne is really bad, it won’t ever clear up completely, you’ll have to always keep it at bay with various products, and if you miss a day or two, some pimples will form.
